Siegel Group Brings Boutique Chic Retreats to Las Vegas

Stephen Siegel, founder and president of The Siegel Group, is creating a new category of Las Vegas lodging called the Boutique Chic Retreats with five properties — Rumor, scheduled to open in June; The Artisan; Gold Spike Hotel & Casino; Oasis at Gold Spike; and The Resort on Mount Charleston. “I’m told every day I’m crazy to be entering into the market with a new concept during such tough times; I love that!” Siegel said. “We have created a new niche product not available in Las Vegas, but there are people who want it and I’m going to deliver it. I remember when Steve Wynn built The Mirage, people said it would be too big and when he opened Bellagio they said that it would be too luxurious. There were countless naysayers who predicted Peter Morton’s Hard Rock Hotel would fail and no one thought George Maloof’s plan to launch his hotel with an MTV reality show would work, but it did. No one believed there was a market for what they envisioned; those are the types of people I plan on emulating. These are different times, and I plan on delivering a different type of Las Vegas hotel.”
Formerly St. Tropez, Rumor Hotel is located where Paradise meets Harmon, directly across the street from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The two-story Rumor will feature 150 suites, many with patios or private balconies, and an ultra-lounge lobby area with concierge-style check-in.
The Artisan is a non-gaming boutique hotel and ultra-lounge with 64 rooms and an atmosphere compared to 1914 Montmartre. The Gold Spike Hotel & Casino is a 112-room, seven-floor hotel in downtown Las Vegas. Originally opened in 1976 as the Rendezvous, the property has been renovated and re-designed by The Siegel Group. Oasis at The Gold Spike, which opened in April, formerly was Travel Inn on the far reaches of Las Vegas Boulevard. The 50-room Oasis at Gold Spike retains its mid-century design. With the addition of a modern-style pool, this inn is connected to the original Gold Spike Hotel via an outdoor lounge and walkway.
The Resort on Mount Charleston is 30 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip in the mountains of the Toiyabe National Forest. The hotel is currently undergoing a multi-million-dollar interior/exterior renovation, adding amenities such as a mountain-view pool, a suspended wedding-ceremony deck and new upgraded rooms.
